Position Overview:
The Part-Time Team Member is a versatile role responsible for ensuring a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable guest experience at the Aledo Opera House. This role requires adaptability, as employees in this role will be cross-trained and may be assigned various responsibilities, including concessions, box office admissions, ushering, AV support, housekeeping, maintenance, parking, security and medical support, and bartending (if licensed). While employees may have a primary role, they are expected to adapt as needed to support event operations.
Essential Functions:
Provide friendly, professional service to all guests.
Assist with inquiries, seating, accessibility needs, and general customer support to ensure a positive experience.
Process tickets, check-in guests, operate point-of-sale (POS) systems, and handle cash/card transactions accurately and efficiently.
Enforce policies related to seating, late arrivals, and venue rules.
Answer guest questions and provide information about events, amenities, and venue history.
Prepare and serve concessions and beverages while maintaining cleanliness, safety, and compliance with food handling and alcohol service regulations.
Assist in event setup, execution, and breakdown, including seating arrangements, signage placement, and troubleshooting minor operational issues.
Keep public areas clean and well-maintained, including lobbies, restrooms, and seating areas. Perform routine tasks such as trash removal, wiping surfaces, and restocking supplies.
Monitor guest behavior to ensure a safe environment, follow emergency procedures, and report any incidents or concerns to management.
Assist in basic operations of AV equipment for films, lights, and sound as required.
Work closely with fellow team members and supervisors to ensure smooth event operations.
Be adaptable and willing to assist in different areas as needed.
Qualifications:
Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks successfully.
Comfortable performing light physical labor for long periods of time.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Previous experience in hospitality, event services, retail, or food service is a plus.
Bartenders and alcohol servers must hold appropriate state and local certifications.
Security and medical support roles may require additional certifications.
