About the Aledo Opera House

Welcome to the Aledo Opera House — a beautifully restored 1904 theater located in the heart of downtown Aledo, Illinois. Nestled within a historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places, our venue blends vintage charm with modern amenities to offer a one-of-a-kind destination for entertainment, education, and cultural enrichment.

As a non-profit multi-purpose theater, we’re proud to serve as both a boutique cinema and a live performance venue. With a cozy single-screen setup and a 25-foot by 12.5-foot stage, we host everything from first-run and classic films to concerts, comedy shows, stage plays, community events, and more.

• Main floor seating for 200 guests in a semi-permanent configuration

• A luxurious mezzanine lounge with sofas, armchairs, and a private concessions bar, seating approximately 40

• A 550-square-foot pre-function lounge perfect for mingling before the show

• Unique historical displays, including original 1930s ticket booth, vintage movie posters, and a beautifully preserved historic 35mm projector

Artists and performers enjoy top-tier accommodations backstage, including:

• A 2,300-square-foot artist support space, featuring a deluxe 800-square-foot green room suite (dressing room, shower, rehearsal space, and private lounge)

• A 700-square-foot backstage and side-stage "Icebox Lounge"

• An 800-square-foot overnight loft apartment, the “Performers Lounge,” complete with a king bed, full kitchen, private bath, and in-unit laundry

Just outside, our brick patio with outdoor speakers adds another welcoming touch to the experience.

The Aledo Opera House offers more than just a night out — it’s part of a full evening. Guests can enjoy dinner at one of Aledo’s nearby restaurants, stroll to our historic venue, grab concessions, and settle into a plush seat for a show. Afterward, take a walk to one of the local bars for a nightcap, and stay overnight in one of the downtown apartment suites. It’s entertainment that’s personal, immersive, and unforgettable.
